1. Introduction
The Town of Washington is seeking qualified and experienced contractors to pave 270’ of roadway on Firehouse Lane. The proposed paving will start at the intersection of VT Route 110 over the existing pavement and extend up 110’ over the existing dirt road. The project is funded through the State of Vermont Budget Adjustment Act FY 25
2. Project Scope
The selected contractor shall:
Clean and edge asphalt from VT 110 ROW to start of Bridge #1
Shim Low spots on existing asphalt and prepare the roadway.
Pave 110’ south after Bridge #1 using Type 2 asphalt, 2.5” thick, 22’ wide.
Pave top of roadway, using Type 3 asphalt, 1.5” thick, 22’ wide, 270’ long.
Pave left side shoulder to tie into existing paved Fire Department ramp.
Total finished pavement will be 4”
3. Location
The work is located at the intersection with Vermont Route 110 and Firehouse lane in the Town of Washington, Vermont. (44.1078, -72.4336)
4. Contractor Qualifications
The contractor must have experience with municipal roadwork and paving projects.
Must be able to complete the project in accordance with Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) specifications.
Provide proof of current liability insurance and workers’ compensation coverage.
Must comply with all federal, state, and local regulations.
Project must be completed by October 31, 2025
5. Proposal Requirements
Each proposal must include:
A detailed cost estimate for the project with a separate price for paving the shoulder in front of the Fire Department
A proposed schedule, including anticipated start and finish dates.
References from at least two recent municipal road construction jobs.
Proof of insurance and bonding

Electronic submissions and late proposals will not be accepted.

Proposals will be evaluated based on the following:
Total cost
Contractor experience and qualifications
Proposed project timeline
References and past performance
