What to expect at the polls

  1. Check in with the ballot clerk(s).

  2. State your full first and last name…this is to be sure any poll watchers hear it

  3. If you brought the ballot that was mailed to you and it’s filled out, you may deposit it.

  4. If you did not bring the ballot that was mailed to you, you must, per statute, fill out an affidavit of vote not cast.

  5. If you tell the ballot clerk that you did not receive a mailed-in ballot, you must, per statute, fill out an affidavit of ballot not received.

  6. If you have been ‘challenged’ then you must, per statute, fill out an affidavit of residence.

  7. After depositing your voted ballot, you must check out with an election official.

  8. If you have not registered to vote in Washington, see town clerk.

  9. Please grab yourself a free flag pin!

Per statute, you may not take a blank ballot home for someone who can not come into the polls. You may request, as a family member or caregiver or health care provide, for 2 Justices of the Peace to take a ballot to the home, if any are available.
