Upcoming Tax Bills & Payment Dates

As decided by Washington voters at the March 2025 town meeting, Article 4, the upcoming property tax installment due dates are September 15, 2025 and February 15, 2026.

Property tax bills will be mailed to all property owners and escrow companies no later than August 15, 2025. This will be the only notice sent, and there will be 2 payment coupons attached.

If your escrow company requests the tax bill, then it will receive the tax bill.

If you had issues receiving last year’s tax bill, please check in with us to be sure we have your correct mailing address.

If you sell your home and still receive a tax bill, as stated on the bill you are asked to pass it along to the buyer.

Double-check your rates: if you declare Washington as your town of residence then you should have filled out the Homestead Declaration with the state, not the town, which would allow you a lower tax rate. The absolute last date to do so is October 15 with the Vermont state tax department, and it should be done by every April 15 to not be considered late.

FYI: the property tax due dates for the following fiscal year are always voted on at each March town meeting.
