Rec Dept Meeting 4/14/26
Washington Recreation Department Meeting
6:30 p.m., April 14, 20206, Town Hall
In person: Department members Fred Blanchard, Emma McConnell, Liza Mountford, Vince Vermette, Ann Wade

1. Meeting called to order at 6:35 p.m.
2. Emma was welcomed to the rec department.
3. Officers nominated: Chair-Fred, Secretary-Emma, Treasurer-Scott Blanchard, ayes carried.
4. Emma will be in charge of the Calendar of Events for Carpenter Park. She can be reached at emmarie674@gmail.com, and will reach out to previous department member, Carol Poulin, for any events already scheduled.
5. Fred will reserve the port-a-potties through Wind River.
6. Liza said that the selectboard was in favor of the proposed arena by the Washington Agricultural Association. WAA will do the fund raising, it won’t be paid for by the rec department or the town.
7. Discussed placing a corner box on the Snowflyers building to hold signs and other park equipment.
8. Discussed the field days and location of bathrooms, slide, etc.
9. Discussed the Winter Festival, all agreed it was a success, and plans are to continue holding it at the park.
10. Spring cleaning will begin at the next meeting May 5, 6:30 p.m. There will be no option to record as this physically will be a working meeting.
11. Agreed to combine the fall festival with the WAA as was done in 2025.
12. Will get the WAA Music in the Park dates for the calendar.
13. Fred will discuss with Ryan Bresette where to put the AED (automated external defibrillator) to not only allow it to be readily available for emergencies, but to protect it from theft.
14. Discussed bridge replacement.
