Community Participation Requested

The Selectboard is beginning budget building for FY26 selectboard budget, and we invite residents to bring their expertise and ideas to a budget committee of choice to draft a budget for selectboard approval.

These meetings will include only one selectboard member and are considered advisory, so they do not have to be warned as a public meeting or have a virtual option. All budgets developed in these committees will be submitted to the selectboard for continuation of the budget process which will then be discussed in open meetings that will be warned and virtual.

These initial committees are a way for residents to get in on the ground level and have input on the budget.

Budgets are due to the selectboard by November 30th.

If you are interested in one or more of these committees, please email me at Sheila05675@yahoo.com or call Lois at 802-883-2218 by October 11th.
*Highway budget – led by AJ
*Town Clerks office – led by Lois (selectboard member: Sheila)
*Other operating expenses – led by Sheila

The library and fire department develop their own budgets, if you have an interest in sharing your ideas on these budgets, please reach out to them to express that interest and learn about their budget building process.

Thank you,
Sheila Duranleau
Chair, Washington Selectboard
